About

Melissa Kessler is the President and owner of Evoke Potential, LLC, a certified Woman Owned Small Business. She is a senior-level professional with over 25 years of experience training, consulting, and coaching leaders within industry and government. Prior to starting her own company in 2012, she spent 10 years at Booz Allen Hamilton leading teams and providing consulting services to the U.S. Army TACOM and the U.S. Air Force. She led a staff of more than 10 senior-level consultants responsible for implementing grand-scale organizational transformation, and she managed contracts in excess of $25 million.


Melissa’s most rewarding accomplishment has been developing and implementing a leadership development cohort program for emerging leaders at the U.S. Army TACOM in 2019. This program consists of a combination of training courses, individual coaching, and group coaching to ensure that leadership skills are embedded and practiced, and true transformation occurs. This program has been ongoing annually since 2019, with many of the participants being promoted into leadership positions.


As a consultant and trainer, Melissa facilitated leadership training courses, strategic planning efforts, teambuilding sessions, and workshops resulting in increased team effectiveness and productivity, improved communication, and reduced conflict in a variety of organizations. Training courses include the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI), Conflict Management, Team Leadership, Increasing Resiliency, Emotional Intelligence, Change and Transition Management, Manager Essential Skills, Giving Effective Feedback, Coaching Essentials, Influencing Skills, Building Trust, Communication Skills, Decision Making, and Situational Leadership.


She has provided coaching to over 200 leaders at all levels - from CEOs to high potentials - resulting in the achievement of their personal and professional goals including promotion to the next level of leadership. Her true talent is transforming smart technical experts into strong influential leaders by expanding their emotional intelligence and inspiring them to take focused and powerful action.


Melissa is a native of Michigan and currently lives there with her husband and two dogs. She is a member of the International Coach Federation (ICF), ICF Michigan Charter Chapter, ICF Los Angeles Charter Chapter, Sterling Heights Regional Chamber of Commerce, Michigan Business & Professional Association, and the International Membership of Professional Advisors, Coaches & Trainers. Melissa also served as a mentor with Winning Futures for two years and is currently an associate coach with BetterUp Coaching.
